About Us
Formed in 1969, the City of Rochester Symphony Orchestra (CRSO) is Medway's only Symphony Orchestra. Consisting of over 60 playing members, both amateur and professional musicians, the CRSO perform, amongst others, three main concerts at The Central Theatre, Chatham, Kent.
The CRSO performs a wide range of music to the highest possible standard for the local Medway community and wider region. Our repertoire is meticulously planned, under the guidance of our Music Director and Repertoire Selection Committee, to appeal to both the audience and the players.
The CRSO places the local community at the heart of its performances and overall aims. As part of that commitment, the CRSO has introduced special ticket concessions for young audience members, schools, community groups and we also encourage the development of Young Musicians who join the Orchestra as playing members. The CRSO outreach programme includes a composition evening, which allows for young composers to hear their music played by the Orchestra, and arranged talks to local schools by our Music Director and Concert Soloists.
The Orchestra, registered charity No. 264844, relies upon the support of its loyal audience, friends, patrons and sponsors. There are many ways you can become involved with the City of Rochester Symphony Orchestra and we are grateful for your support at any level.
