Jeanine Thorpe violin

Winner of the "Remember Enescu" International Violin Competition and the Royal Philharmonic Society Emily Anderson prize, Jeanine Thorpe is one of the most sought-after violinists of her generation. Recent concerto engagements include the Bach, Bruch and Prokofiev concertos in venues such as St. John's Smith Square, the Barbican Hall and St. James' Piccadilly.

Jeanine began learning the violin at the age of 6 and quickly progressed to an extremely high standard.  At the age of just 13 she gained recognition as not only the youngest, but also the first western winner of the "Remember Enescu" Competition, held in Romania.  She then went on to win the ESTA (European String Teacher's Association) "Student of the Year" award, held in Malta aged 15, and the Royal Philharmonic Society "Emily Anderson" prize in 2006. She has given concerts across the globe to great critical acclaim, most recently in Norway, Switzerland , Holland and Estonia, and was selected to take part in a series of masterclasses with the late Mstislav Rostropovich a year before his death.

Jeanine has appeared on the ITV production Trial and Retribution, and was seen on BBC2's Classical Star and Maestro. She is currently in her second year at the Royal College of Music studying with Mark Messenger
